Shocks

Shocks
I just put in OME springs in the rear of my runner to fix the dreaded sag. They raised it 1.5" over stock now here is my question do I need to replace the old shocks or not? It just the ride on gravel roads seems a little rougher now than before and it seems the rear tends to more hop over speed bump and stuff like that.

Check to see if the current shocks are topping out (i.e. they are too short):

If they are, that could be the cause of the problem. Also, give the rear end the "bounce" test. Get the rear cycling up and down, then let go and see if it stops on the rebound or if it keeps going up and down. Could also be due to the increased spring rate and you may need shocks matched to the rate. Good thing with the OME springs is that you can get the matching OME shocks to go with them.

It may be hard to believe but the OME shocks really do make a difference on the springs. I originally installed the springs with a set of Gabriels (worst shocks I've ever owned). Talked to Phil and let him talk me into the OME shocks though I hated to spend the bucks. BIG difference...Much better ride with the OME. If it's still too hard, do what I did, switch to the medium spring. Firmer & taller than stock but won't beat you to death.
