Exclamation SAS Question need quick reply!!

I have an opportunity to buy a dana 44, dana 60 with transfer case. These came off a Dodge ower Wagon. The 44 measures 62" (wms-wms) and the 60 measures 65"-66" (wms-wms). Will these work for a SAS or not? Thanks!!

That is kind of a loaded question! Yes they will work. Can you make them work? I don't know, but if you have to ask rather they will work or not you are probably taking on a bigger project than you can handle. My advice is to research alot more, there are so many diffirent ways of doing an SAS. Some are easier than others, so think about exactly what you want your rig to be and the capabilities you have to build it and go from there!

The front (Dana 44) is a driver side pumpkin. I dont know the difference between a dodge Dana, a Jeep Dana, or a Ford Dana. But I do know that for $150 for a front Dana 44, a rear Dana 60, and a tranfere case, it cant be beat. So I am willing to try.

If you rear is that much wider than your front you will have serious turning issues, and check out the allpro side for why its bad to run huge spacers on the front axle.

What size tires are you planning to run? The stock axle can handle a bit, and can be upgraded in the weakpoints.

is the 44 a non vacuum disconnect? thats the one you want. id go with that and keep your rear as is. less hassle. just add an arb in the front n youre set. i think the 60's need big meats for decent clearance (?)

if its all usable...for 150..hell id buy it just so i can say 'im collecting parts for my swap'

Exactly what DOubledown said. I bought my junky, dirty, greasy, rusty D44 and loved the thing just sitting on my workbench.
