I have a 1990 4Runner. It has coil springs in the back. I put procomp stage II 4inch lift on it. Unfourtnetly with the price of the lift kit and the new superswampers and offset rims i couldnt afford the shocks i wanted so i stuck with the procomp es9000 that came with the kit. right now my back passenger side is sagging down. The bump stop in the spring is an inch lower then the drivers side is, the shock is compressed over an inch more then the other side and my limiter strap is alot looser. I was wondering if i replace that shock would it lift my baby back up or do you think its the spring? Shock is only 40bucks, set of springs run 150 so i was going to try the cheaper fix for now and hope i just wore it out or torqued it down to tight causing it to break a seal or somethen. Keep in mind i did not buy the kit from a store i bought it from a kid who bought it over a year before but never installed it becuase he wrecked his truck and was fired from lesschwab where he bought it so couldnt return it. There for even though ive only lifted it 4 months ago i cannot call procomp and freak out.

 

Shock absorbers do just that, absorb the road vibrations. Springs support the vehicle's weight and thus control the ride height. One thing you might try is swapping the springs and/or shocks from side to side and see if the sag follows the spring or shock.

 

Loosen all your link bolts (4 lower, 4 upper), bounce the 4Runner a couple times and then re-tighten. Maybe the bushings are set in the wrong place. It can happen if you tighten everything with out it being level.

 

I hope this works. Im going to try the boucing idea first as thats an easy fix for me. As for swapping my springs side to side, well thats a harder fix but something i should be able to do. Very limited knowledge of taking things apart. I went ahead and bought an extra shock sense they are only 40bucks online anyways so will try that also. any recomendation on where to get 4inch lift springs for my 4runner besides procomps set if thats what i need to do?
