Rear shock options...?
I have just installed a set of 2.5 saw coilovers and camburg uca's on my 98' taco, and am looking for some feedback on a good rear shock. I like the Bilstein 5100 and 5150 models but have heard from some people that they are very firm. Oh and anyone have a review on the deaver 8 pack? thanks.

I would be worried about being too stiff then.
If you really want to run washboard at 55 MPH for long periods, I would suggest going with a tunable true remote reservoir shock, or better yet, a bypass - but that's serious coin!

Yeah... Im probably not gonna dump the major$$$$$$ for the bypasses, I guess il go with some bilstein 5100's. off topic question... I have 32x11.5 bfg at's and want to get some 33's when these babies go bald. Do the 33x 10.5's look too skinny? Ive seen the 12.5 many times but not too mant 10.5s.

I was looking for the same thing in my '85. I went with the 5150 but got the lightest valving possible. I believe it was meant for a dual shock setup in a larger truck, but it has worked extremely well for me. I just did 500 trail miles in Baja and with 63" Chevy springs in the back and aired down, it pretty much floated over most everything. I don't haul a lot of weight the majority of the time, but I occasionally will haul a sled or a bike and they do just fine on the road and bottom out every once in a while off road. Unloaded though, definitely the smoothest riding leaf sprung '80's Toyota I've ever been in. Hope this helps.
