My Deaver rear & Donahoe coils should be here next week. (2 1/2 lift)

I normaly am not a fan at all of body lifts in general (I see 4''-6'' trucks all the time with no suspension mods done just to get bigger tires) but want to be able to get the most out of 285/75/R16s. Do you folks think that a R. Brown 1'' body lift would be a good idea?
Any of you ever install a 1'' on an 01 taco and was there many problems as far as shift linkage on 5-speed or t-case ???
I know they make radiator relocation brackets but are the bumper relocation brackets safe? I plan on adding an ARB front bumper and winch in the future.
And would like rock sliders as well and thought the extra clearance for welding would be nice.

Technically, its the 4Crawler Offroad body lift, that's the name of the company. For the ARB bumper, my brackets won't work (since the ARB brackets wrap under the frame), either leave the buumper as-is, or modify the ARB brackets like this:



Cut off the front tab, raise it 1" and weld it back on:



Generally no radiator relocation is needed at 1"

I just did a 1" 4Crawler BL on my 1999 $runner, and I must say that it is definitely a superior kit! 1" really isn't all that much, but in many cases it can help you clear that 285. And as Roger points out, it will expose more of the frame rail allowing you to mount your sliders nearer the vertical center of the frame rail. This is both easier and helps maintain the integrity of the frame, among other things...

as for towing, nope thats all the frame..... and for the bed, maybe, but it really shouldnt be an issue, there are support blocks you can add to stiffen the bed stiffeners and anti sag crossbeams..... but basically, if it isnt going to break the bed in a stock configuration, its fine for the bodylift

i have a 3" currently.. and we had a huge cherry picker and a complete built up 350 chevy engine back there and no problem other than my truck didnt stop as fast... but it had a bit of extra wieght back there
