I would assume so, considering they're the only ones being advertised as made by some Shrock guy for NE. Those are the "Shrockstar" sliders that have the "u-shaped grips" as Rishi mentioned.

Well, judging by Photo #1, the entire weight of the slider is being suspended by an approximately 1/8" thick piece of metal sitting upon the bolt that runs thru it, times six (two bolt-thru hole setups at each bracket). I am not an engineer nor a fabber, but that seems like a poor weight-supporting distribution to me. Hope they stopped using the butter bolts! The Hanna sliders weight is supported (on each slider) by two approx. 3" long sections of the ubolt resting upon the frame, and it was reported to me that the Hanna ubolts have a tremendous tensile strength (was is 50,000lbs??).

Rishi, good luck if you believe those are the perfect sliders. I seriously doubt they will withstand abuse over any period of time.

holy crap, reading some of that stuff on the buyerbeware.ws site is scary. i like the photoshopped taco though.. especially the rear driver side tire, it's just a facade, if you look, the tread of the tire isn't even there

ok, I try and keep an open mind and give people the benefit of the doubt when people promote NE's products.

I assume that they haven't heard of NEs history. I assume they haven't seen the buyerbeware site. I assume they have not done a search on YT for the letters N and E. However, once this information has been dispensed and the person shows anything other than disgust, I have to assume the person is either affiliated with NE, or has suffered some form of brain damage caused by head trauma from putting their head up their......

I just don't get it.

I really wish AK would move on to some other industry. Perhaps one where his products won't kill anyone.

 

I can't say anything about NE since I haven't tried their products. But their slider pictures sure look great: wide grips, flush with frame, nothing protruding below the frame: all the items I'm looking for. I just hope they make it sufficiently strong and long lasting.

 

Just get them welded... soo much easier to deal with

 

Heard you need a good welder, otherwise the frame can get weakened. Also, I'd like to fully remove the slider in case I ever decide to sell the 4runner.

 

There have been discussions about this, and I thought the general conclusion was that was purely dependent upon something about the frame makeup ... and that it isn't a problem.

If you want a removable slider that has been PROVEN and tested for years - check out the Hanna sliders that a lot of these guys have ... or Roger Brown's 4Crawler sliders, as they, too, are bolt-on. Also, Jason Demello was talking about looking into making some as well. All three of those companies have been around for a long time, and have great reputations among the off-road community.

The same cannot be said for certain other companies.

I would also recommend Stubbs, but his are weld-on.
