OME/Tundra + Cornfed Spacers

I got my OME/Tundra lift on last weekend and it doesnt sit as high as I was hoping it would. I have the 1in Sonoran steel diff. drop and I was wondering if it would put too much stress on the CV's to add 2-2.5" cornfed spacers ontop of the OME/Tundra coils. I dunno if this is a stupid idea or not, I'm new to most of this stuff. If I do add the spacers what else am I going to need? I've heard I'll need new brake lines but is there anything else?

i don't think the idea of this solution is to give alot of lift, it's more for flexibility (front tire stuff).

You mean the OME/TRD lift is for more flex? Or adding the spacers would give more flex?

The OME/Tundra lift that you said you installed. Originally designed by a couple guys here, they didn't have lift in mind, they had flex in mind, so what I'm saying is that the OME/Tundra you said you installed isn't supposed to give an abundance of lift but the benefit is more for flex. Maybe one of these guys will pipe in and help the new guy on the forum? I would hope, but... If they don't, pm bamachem and ask him, I believe he did most of the design work for that thing.

I'm not positive, but I thought someone stated before that spacers will make a really stiff ride on the tundra coils. Also, the height of the spacers on the tundra coils will be too much for the cv's, even w/ the diff drop...

how much lift did you get from the setup?? I'm also considering the tundra coils and ome's.
According to bamachem, schaefer and gapguy, plus others... this setup along with a 3/8 inch topout spacer is supposed to give you about 2 - 2.5 inches of lift while maximizing flex. I've also heard of people installing this setup and not getting enough front lift becasue the ome shock cups were accidently installed upside down. So, that might be something to check??

Ive got OME 881s and 2.5" cornfed spacers.... Uhh, its not too bad. Ive had them on for almost a year without any problems. A little stiff, but, nothing horrible.

I'll be selling my 2.5" cornfeds next week....got a new lift coming on.

Have any problems with the CV's? Did you need brake line extensions?

I have the Tundra/OME/Bamachem 3/8" spacer front end. With my T-15 bumper and M8000 winch (synth line) I am holding a good 2" of lift up front. It rides great and is nice and flexy also, at least it's better than the SAWs I took off.

Is there anything else that could be done to change the cv angles? Would a bigger diff. drop work?

Your only other option would be to install a drop bracket lift (fabtech, tuff country, trailmaster) which would drop your whole front. The only thing about those are that they are made for tacoma's and you can only use the front, so you have to custom build your rear w/ leafs or spacers...
