New option for bottom side rock lights
I was reading into some of the rock light posts because they seem like a fairly cheap mod that helps a lot at night and looks cool too. The main dilema seemed to be finding a cheap durable wide light pattern light.
Well just the other night out in a parking lot with my parents 04 runner, I noticed the rear liscense plate lights. They are broad enough to light up the liscense plate from only a few inches away, and yet were still bright enough to light up the ground too. After closer examination, it appears that they have pretty thick covers on them to prevent breakage.
Just an initial thought since I dont know how much they cost, but I figure It would be really easy to get a wiring harness for them and run some in parallel under the vehicle. Any thoughts? anyone have an idea of a price for these?

I got some rocklights from Trailgear.com. I think they were $8 each or something. Im using them as backup lights and they are VERY bright!!!
I would definetly recommend them.

They only have 1 wire, which is the positive. The ground goes through the light mount.

The best rock lights by far IMO are the LED ones that Robinhood made. They dont have a lense to break and draw hardley any power at all. 6 or 8 of those LED lights draws less power then a single 55W "tractor light".
