New 4x4...need mod direction

Purchased an immaculate 87' 4-runner about a month ago. I've been doing a lot of searching on the boards and I think that I've made the decision to go with a 4" superlift kit for my suspension needs. Now as far as tires go...I think I want to go with some 35 x 12.50s. However, the truck is a 22re auto (not a whole lot of power). Would I be able to push those tires with new gearing ( 5.29s ) or should I stick to 33s. Any opinions/ suggestions would be very helpful before I jump into this.

Yeah, that should do it. I say 4.88's up to 33's and 5.29's after that.
5.71's are a waste and I've seen/heard them break before due to a way weaker pinion... 4" should be plenty to get them 35's under it. Considered an sas at all? If your on a strict budget I can understand that, the ifs lift will be fun for a long while.

so you guys don't think it will be an issue having the wee little automatic 22re pushing the 35s even after the gear change?

Nope... got 4.88's in my 80 pushing 33" tires, just as quick if not quicker than sock. Where it really pays off is in the tcase for creepin'. You'll be fine just don't go any lower than that
