search on here.. there are a lot of threads that discuss what your looking for. With such a large lift you will need to consider regearing also... i am sure you want large tires to go with all that lift. Search for Toy tech or SS lifts

That kit is probably meant for '86-'95.5 Pick-Ups. I really don't think it will work with a '96 4Runner.
I would check out www.toyteclifts.com for a 3" suspension kit and maybe go with a www.4crawler.com 3" body lift. I've got 6" on my '02 4Runner using the same combo and it works great.
Here's the link to a 3" suspension from Toytec, Part # OME3-RUN.

Let's start at the beginning - why do you want a lift for your 4Runner?
Looks?
'Wheeling/ground clearance?
Articulation/flex?
Any of them are OK answers - different lifts for different needs.
What size tires would you like to run?

i want something close to a 33" tire..
and ill be useing it for mudbogging/4wheeling..
theres enought trucks around here that are just "for looks"
the reason i ask is b/c for one i dont know anything about it and everywhere i got to get a solid honest answer theres nothing but guys trying to sell me stuff that i really dont know if i need or do need.

You only need 2-3" lift to fit 33's. For the use you describe, flex/articulation isn't critical. A simple spacer lift would work well for you.
Check out Revtek and Toytec for some inexpensive options.
If you want to impress the chumps at the mudbog, save up the money from a fancy big lift and put it into locking differentials instead. Nothing shuts those punks up faster than showing up in a relatively stock looking truck and walking through stuff they have trouble with...

Theres two different types of lift for your 4runner.
1) Simple spacer or spring lift which adds anywhere from 1"-3". 3" is max because that is the limit for the CVs to flex...
2) A drop bracket lift which lowers your differential, steering linkage, and a-arms. These come in 4", 5" and 6".
3) Taking out the independent front, and replacing with a solid axle, like the rear end... thats a lot of work. They are bulletproof, but, take time and money to swap in.
The first choice is what 99% of the people run on this board, because it is inexpensive and works well. Plus, you can always revert back to stock.
I am running the second, a drop bracket lift. Most of the Chevy, ford, etc. trucks you see run these if they have an independent front suspension. I don't have any beef with these lifts...even though it seems most the guys here don't approve of them when they've never actually had them on their rigs.
Problem with these lifts is that it takes a lot of time, you have to cut out some crossmembers, and they are expensive $1000+. Plus side is that you get the stock geometry of the suspension so you actually are getting more travel than you would with a longer spring, and less carnage on your CV's and tie-rods.
So basically, if you're set on the 6" lift, then check out the Tacoma lifts made by ProComp, Tuff Country, Trailmaster and Fabtech. Those are the only companies I know which make them. The front end of a Tacoma is about the same as a 96-2002 4runner.
If you want something smaller, then check out http://www.sonoransteel.com for some quality lifts, or Toyotec or Revtek for something cheaper!

Oh and by the way, the lift you linked will NOT work on your 4runner.
Also, you have coil-springs front AND REAR on your 4runner. The longest coil that will work on the rear will be an FJ-80 series Landcruiser FRONT spring.

Install a 2" bl and be done with it.
Spend the rest of your money on armor (tranny skid that'll push the xfer case and tranny up a couple of inches since you'll now have the room with the 2" bl, and also look at pushing the gas tank up) , gears, lockers (all of which you'll need for mudbogging).

Hey Irene;
I have a SS/OEM lift, on my 97 4Runner, IMO these are great kits. I'm running System #1.5.
Here's the link:

And as said before from a couple others you could go the cheaper route with just Coil Spring Spacers
