My 35's are rubbing me raw...
Got to go out yesterday for my first run with 35s... I was stoked most of the time.
But, on a few twisty areas I was getting some pretty heavy rubbing on my front wheel wells, and I think my rear wheel wells too!?
And, once agian, my driveshaft was just nailing the skidplate, even after I hammered it down some.
I know about the front pinch weld which needs to be hammered/sawzalled down. Any good writeups on that? I would still like to have a clean look to my fender.
What about the rear? Has anyone had problems with rubbing?! Maybe it was just my driveshaft.
I was thinking about getting a stock panhard bar and raising up the lower mount 3" and dropping the upper mount down 3". (Since I have 6" total of lift). I feel that it would give me much better axle control in general. Has anyone done this? I think it would help my gastank interference.
Also, has anyone just raised their tank up!? Seems with a body lift you could tuck it up a little.

This is amazing. You have twice the lift Schaefer did and he only hit frame on occassion. With drop brackets, I am amazed you can get that close to the fenders.
Write up on front trimming:
-Get grinder
-Apply it do pinch weld
-Repeat until smooth
Write up on rear issues:
-Get plasma
-Apply plasma to stock links
-Get welder
-Put leaves on
Seriously dude, you are way past what stock tolerates off road. If you want to play in that height range, you need some real tools, likely from Miller and Thermal Dynamics.

4Runner Rick has a great tubing write up on pirate. That dude has a great write up on a lot of stuff. No link but you can probably find it in the FAQ. Don't forget to post pics when you get it done.

sean @ tlt has a wicked write up on hacking your fender/firewall area on his site. looks pretty extensive, but it was an an awesome job well done. he also has a writeup on fender trimming (i dont think he runs any flares). someone else here had a tank relocation in the works..search the fab forum i think.

^ yes.
i rub on the rear wheel wells, but only a little bit on the driver's side, front of the rear wheel well.. that's so far, after two wheelin trips. and it looks easy enough to take care of.
i've trimmed the fronts so i'm fine on the street, but i still rub a bit off road. the worst of it, so far, is the rubbing on the frame at a tight turn. spacers should help out with that. i haven't had significant issues with the front of the front wheel wells or front bumper, but i'll get a bettter idea of where things hit after a local run on saturday. all things considered tho, it doesn't rub as bad as i thought it would. and i'm only at ~4" lift.
i e-hear it's real compliated to lift up the gas tank to match the body lift, but am curious about this as well.

I was running the Sonoran Steel suspension setup for 35" tires (pre-LC coils, so I had an OME setup back there).
I only rubbed on the rear on the drivers side where the hump is for the fuel filler neck - and it was slight rubbing. No damage. The only rubbing I had in the front was against the frame rail behind each tire, and that only happened when I needed to crank the wheel the whole way. I did the pinch weld and mildly trimmed the fender (per Sonoran Steel style). NO driveshaft interaction with the gas tank shield. Worked cool for me.
Then came the leaves.....
