Funny, I am rocking basically the exact same little doodad on the rear of the case. I used the same bolts and everything. Seemed to be the easiest solution to me too. I'm using spring bushings and spreading the torque along the crossmember. I'll try to snap some pics if I remember with my next round of photos. Looks good Steve, congrats...

 

Sweet! I've got a MC07 and 4.7s sitting on my desk here waiting on the crossmember and driveshaft, should be installing it in a couple weeks.

Steve, nice! If your going for the factory look go with a limited transfer case knob. it has H on the bottom and L4 on top.

The twin stick will only work on the older transfer cases. The Tacoma (which he calls it) gear driven case has a different flange.

Yeah I'm going to get a factory knob, that Marlin one sticks up really high.

Anyone know the part number for the 4Runner Limited 4WD knob?

Next on your list of "to do's", and this is from my limited experiance w/ a crawler box-

You WILL need to chain down the motor mounts. The huge increase in torque generated will break them sooner or later. I'm only at 109:1, and have broken a driver's side motor mount and a t'case mount. Your going to be at 200:1 or better, double the torque load.

I'm also going to predict you'll twist up a stock d'shaft tube- I did, twice, w/ stock 0.095 wall thickness matl. So far, the 3" x 0.135 wall tubing I have now has held up fine. Mark M. and the rest of teh BTG crew is using 0.250 wall stuff, but they can't be balanced.
