Question Lift And Shocks On The Way!!!

Finally did it...the Daystar 2-1/2 inch lift and Rancho RS 5000's are on the way! I'd like to install the system myself to save money and have done some auto repairs in the past. Any suggestions on what I should look out for in terms of problem areas? Thanks in advance!

Check the tech section - I think there are several write ups. Tips:

1) Good spring compressors - get the right size for the front (you don't need them for the rear). Safety will make you more comfortable and lower your stress level.

2) Use your bottle jackto push the upper arm down. Genius.

3) Before you start make sure youv'e got a wrench that'll fit on the top of the rear shock. If you're tossing your shocks feel free to use channel locks instead of a strap wrench (on the rear shock).

4) Enjoy the afternoon.

When using the bottle jack, make sure you have it secured... I thought I did until I started turning... Lets just say it suddenly popped out and almost knocked me the **** out... It took me awhile to secure it but yeah... It eventually worked for me...

Got some good news yesterday. The biggest thing I was worried about was compressing the front springs. Had a local tire shop say they'd do it for free! The rest of the installation should be pretty straight forward I think. Thanks for all of your good advice!

Sweet bro... Usually the shops will charge like $30 just to do it...

The rear shocks are a PITA to remove. I put up a thread awhile back and some agreed while others disagreed. For me, it took time and effort to get the damn shocks out. Wasn't much of a pain to put back though.

Yeah, thats weird, I have had no problems with taking out the rear shocks. The top mount is definetly a little akward though.

Just stick a BL on and you can access that nut from the rear wheel well
