Anyone out there using them? I had no idea this was a thing until a few days ago when I stumbled across them.
From their website: "The Liquid Iron Industries Slider Box Kits are designed to significantly stabilize long travel leaf spring suspensions on practically any vehicle. These slider boxes completely replace the standard shackle configuration found on leaf spring setups allowing for smoother operation with less bushings. Additional stability is achieved by eliminating the upper pivot point on longer (5" or more) shackles which reduces body sway in off camber and high speed driving. Self lubricating UHMW pucks are the only moving part on the LII shackle boxes which makes them stone cold reliable in the most demanding situations. Competition tested and proven design is a must for any budget minded leaf spring build.
Manufactured from laser cut 1/4" A36 steel plate and jig welded for precision. Boxes come as an assembled pair ready to be welded to the bottom, side, or frenched into the frame on your project. Replacement UHMW pucks available for a minimal charge.
Designed for 3" overall leaf spring bushing width"
My shackle angle with my TG 3" springs is steep, and the truck rides terrible. Im hoping this allows the springs to move more freely. If anyone has experience with these let me know! Thanks.
i remember hearing about them a long time ago, seems like it was a concept started out for drag cars and brought to off road. I don't know of anyone who has actually used them
I met a guy at a local ORV area that had these, or some other company's version.
early 90's ex cab, vortech 6 swap. He had 4-5" drop from frame solid rear mounts and the sliders were the front mounts.
It was a different setup for sure. It would keep the axle from "moving back" at stuff/keep big tire away from the cab part of wheel well.
He seemed to be doing really well until he bent one of his main leaves. They were some super thin flexy springs so I don't know if the bend had anything to do with his shackle setup or not.
