Thumbs up Just talked to Marlin

I mean Marlin himself! They sent me the wrong base plate for my T-case shifter, so when I called back Marlin himself answered the phone. What a great and friendly guy! Be warned though, he thinks out loud...when I was explaining my problem to him, he kept saying "That's not right. No, that's not right" At first I thought he was telling me I didn't know what I was talking about, but soon realized he was just talking to himself, working through the problem. He told me he would get the new baseplate to me in 2 days...very cool!

As an interesting side note, he said that he has only ever sold one other short throw shifter for the 3.0 V6 transfer case and has 50 of them sitting on the shelves, gathering dust. I got my transmission shifter from Marlin in yesterday, only took about 20 minutes or so, and am already happy with it. Can't wait for the new tranny plate.

He certainly won me as a customer!

I was thinking of getting a short throw for mine, maybe since they are gathering dust he'd be willing to reduce the price.

Any other 3.0 owners out there up for a group buy / group effort. He might not care about cutting 1 person a deal, but if we get an order for a 8 or 10, that might get his attention.

I'll call him tomorrow and see what they might be willing to do.

Yup, marlin is a true gentleman, got a chance to meet him in person on the con last year, made the trip down for the MCR2..

Why not just build a shifter, I have always made my own, in fact, with the configuration in my rig, no pre-made shifter would ahve ever worked....

HAHAHAHAHAH...HAHAHAHA...HAHAHA...your kidding, right? You must have missed all the frustration I had at trying to get my shifters bent "just right" to work with my body lift. After about 5 hours of cumulative trying, I threw in the towel!

Not at all, you want tough, try dodging a heater box for my sm465, then I made my shifters since they now come up through the floor way back..
Pretty simple after you have done about 10 of them...

I'll join in, price depending. How much are they right now?
