ifs lift options
im buying a 89 xtra cab 4x4 this weekend with a 22re and
i was wondering what front springs would be needed to get around 4 inches of lift?
i already got some 63 chevy rears.
is there any budget or junk yard parts out there that i can swoop?
also how will the ifs do as a weekend warrior when im not beatin on my wheeler. im planning on running 35 bfg muds

You don't have front springs. You have torsion bars. Your lift options are a 4'' bracket lift, ball joint spacer, and cranking the torsion bars. Search through the site and you will find tons of information on lifting IFS. As far as running 35's on IFS it'll wear and tear on your steering, suspension, and CV's pretty good, but some people have no problems while others think that is too big of a tire for IFS. It all depends on your wheelin style.

Wow. This is your first IFS rig, huh?
To get 4" lift and fit 35's (you did get that part right) you need a bracket lift to relocate everything down.
35's is kinda the border for the IFS - some people never have any issues, some people break constantly.

Another thing about the Chevy's is that not all give 4'' of lift, depends on the wear on the springs and what year it came out of, whether it's 2WD or 4WD etc... here's some good reading...

sorry its not budget just way cool.
you can look on craigs list for used bracket systems.
when i straight axled my truck i sold the 4" bracket kit for front and rear for 350$ w/everything

yep. its the first ifs rig ive ever drove to haha.
so after researching alot ive basicly said forget 35's and just go with no lift on 33's and beat it till i cant no more and then sas it on 36 goodyear military wranglers.
