help with FROR full float install

I bought some used FROR full float "chunks", with an 85 housing and ifs calipers. I have the housing ready to go, but before I bolt the chunks on I want to be sure, are there any seals or gaskets I have to put inbetween the chunk and the housing or do I just bolt them on with a bit of silicone in there?

For question #2, Are the factory aisin hubs strong enough to stand up to this much power all the time or should I be going with drive flanges?

someone may chime in but personally I would contact Brian at FROR, his kit so he would know. Sometimes it takes a little time to get a response, especially now because I think he may be in the flooded areas in colorado.

Half of the point of that kit is to use Aisin Hubs

My main concern with the hubs is I have 250~hp at the wheels instead of the 85~hp of a 22series. I reckon I'll just have to try it and see if it breaks.

Um....there's a reason no one uses warn hubs. I think you'll be fine.

Have you searched the web? I'm sure there's a write up

I don't recall any gaskets there when I put mine together 4 years ago. At most I think there is an o-ring from the stock axle backing plate then add some silicone to the flange.

On the hubs, I upgraded mine to the Longfield heavy duty inner hub gear and also added FROF hub studs. I do also have a set of FJ80 drive flanges. I only run the stock engine though, but you might want to look into some flanges. There is less play in them as there are no internal moving parts.

thanks for the replies everyone. I think I have all the info I need. I'm going to leave the factory hubs and see how that works. I'll probally buy some drive flanges and keep them behind the seat just incase something does let go. No intentions of going to aftermarket hubs. I'll post again once its installed and have a chance to drive it.

I have pretty much the exact setup you do and the factory hubs have held up so far running stock boost, 4.56 gears and 33" tires. I put silicone on those surfaces and it hasn't leaked so far (8k miles).
