So, what was the total lift you achieved by going with two left side's, and what kind of weight are you hauling around in the rear?

Even with someone on the rear bumper unless they are jumping up and down, the weight doesn't seem to affect the height at all. I would say I got about 3.5 - 4" of lift. In my haste to install the coils, I forgot to take measurements... But I did gain a lot of lift from the coils. Even after they settled. Put it this way.. My frame rail is fully visible if you're looking from the side. Before I got the coils on, you could only see a very tiny bit of it.

So, did they say they were thicker than the other ones when you bought them? They are 8 wrap's right? Do you feel like it's stiffer than the stock coils?

I think they're comparable to stock... if not softer feeling. I really like the ride. I believe they are 8 wraps... They are the same thickness as the stock 4Runner coils.

Can you confirm that they are 8 wraps and the same diameter as stock coils?

I know for sure they are the same diameter... That's one thing I remember noticing. I'll look to see if they are the 8 wraps. Let's get on the same page as to how many wraps... are we counting from the bottom coil end up? or the top coil end down?

This is a picture from Andy (Bamachem). His was from a 1993, and from the picture's I've seen, it definitely has the most wraps that I've seen:

It could be considered a 9 wrap if you count the last 3/4 wrap on the right side, but I beleive this is a true 8 wrap from a 1993.

WOW! I just went out to look at my springs and I count only 6 wraps on my coils.

Pic - Cruiser coil on the left (now on my truck), Downey HD on the right (for sale)
:

Edit: Cruiser coil is 16mm dia.

you have to remember that andy's lc coils are most likely from the front as 3rd gen 4rs' rears are the same diameter as lc fronts... does that make sense?

That's true, because I totally forgot you have a 2nd gen. Please disregard all my comments, sorry!

How much lift did you have in the "before" pic to fit 33's?

Actually... in the before pic, that was completely stock. The after pic is the only lift I have done to the truck...

I never went offroad with my 33's before I got my lift... I didn't want to risk it, you know?
