I ran across this today in a catalog. It is called a "Tornado III Professional Air Compressor Kit" and is sales for less than $90. It visually resembles a Viair model a lot, the stats are:

12 Volt operated
1.94 CFM
Gearless direct drive motor
Automatic thermal reset
Overload protector
In-Line PSI gauge
20' coiled air hose
Alligator clips (up to 23 amp draw)
3 air nozzles
Carrying case

This seemes like a good deal but I'm not an OBA expert.
Assuming this is well built and works properly, how does it stack up against other OBA units? Would you use it for 33's? Thanks for any advice.

What is the duty cycle? That is one of the most important stats.

 

I was wondering that as well but it does not state it and I would assume it is not 100% if it needs a "thermal reset" ???

That would be my guess as well. I know they are more $$, but xtreme off road had a group buy on Extremeaire units which are 100% duty cycle.

 

Thermal reset... isn't that what Chernobyl did?

 

I have concluded this is either a corbon copy, or a "rebuilt" Viair 200 portable.

The 2 compressors have the exact same specs and look identical in every way except the logos. Even the carrying bag is identical.

I just mey get one, it cost $110 less than the Viair, then I can start airing down on the trail.
