Front Locker Install!

Well I finally got my front lockrite in with 4.88 gears. Man was it a pain to get the front cross member back in! But when i got it back together and locked it up i proceeded to crawl up this 2 ft high or so wooden railroad tie embankment and on 31 inch tires i thought it was pretty sweet. I know i am a newb but holy ลลลล this thing will climb anything i point it at with both axles locked!

Pics are pics. As long as you are running something over then it doesn't matter if it's stock or not.

well it depends on who you talk to, its only 4 bolts and it makes it 10x easier to move the differential around, the tricky part is getting the crossmember positioned back up there again to get the bolt holes all lined up. I think it is possible to get the diff in and out without removing it but i wanted to just lift and lower the diff with a floor jack so i wouldnt drop and damage it. I followed the intructions for removing an IFS third at www.gearinstalls.com

As Mr. Flygt likes to say "Lift and tires are cool on the internet, gears and lockers are cool on the trail" You did things in exactly the right order...Very nice...

I don't know if you HAVE to remove the xmember, but it will make your life MUCH easier...a rubber mallet solves the problem of getting it back in....and ZUK's site is VERY good.
