Front case pops out of low

Hey guys, Just had a dual case installed in my 85 4runner by a buddy. Everything shifts fine and nothing hits the trans tunnel. As tourque is loaded and unloaded the front case works its way out of low. It will stay in high all day. The rear case does fine also. My buddy who did the job is 300 miles away and i want to try to figure this out at home before I drag it back up there. ideas?...... Thanks!

Check your transfer case and motor mounts. Sounds like you're getting too much play. You may want to chain the motor mounts to prevent excess movement.

Ok... Finaly got into it. Checked all the mounts and they are fine. Changed to a HD detent spring and it stays in 1st but not in reverse. Popped the top of the case and watched everything while in reverse. I found out the shifter does not have room to move the collar all the way back on the shift rail. I moved it with a wrench and it will slide back another centimeter or 2. The only thing I see to do is modify the actual thickness of the part of the shifter that meets the shift rail. Any other ideas?... thanks guys!
