I can get a fairly decent deal on fabtech parts and was just wondering what you guys think of this system for the 96+ 4x4? i know a lot of you diss on fabtech for one reason or another, but aside from whatever your personal reasons are, is there anything mechanically wrong with this kit?

what have been your experiences with this? i am looking to just get more clearance and to fit 32's or 33's (Swampers)

 

I don't have any personal experience with them, but the few people who have run them around here had problems with the bottom bushing failing in pretty short order. I think they're pretty expensive considering some of the other alternatives. Just based on what I've read, and the price, I would never consider them for my rig.

I've got the 3.5 performance on my truck and so far it's held up great! Only problem I've had with it was my won fault and that was hitting the schrader valve to recharge the shocks on something and cracking it. They are replaceable, so no worries. I've hit the trails many times with my truck and everything is holding together great. I don't think the SAW's are any better or worse than the Fabtech. If you can get a good price on it, go for it.

 

what are some of the alternatives? ive seen king...run about 800 or so a pair, no? i am able to pick up a pair of the fabtech (new) for about $650

 

for $650, go with the SAWs.

no, they are 0-3.5" just like the King's and Fabtechs's

 

With fabtech the only thing I would stay away from are their coils. They dont ride very well compared to eibach or King springs. They both use 2" diameter shocks, but the SAWs use heims in the shock mounts instead of bushings. Personally I would go with the SAW shocks

 

i thought they used Eibach coils on their adjustable coilovers?

 

Fabtech have their own coils and use them with their kits. The sway aways usually have with eibach springs.
