Exclamation Engine problems

Let me first start by apologizing if i posted in the incorrect forum. Didn't see anything for engine tech questions.

Recently bought a '88 pickup, 4x4, very nice truck and runs half way decent. Come to find out, i have a haggard miss.

I have replaced plugs, cap/rotor, wires, done a valve adjustment and double checked them, had two bad injectors, and had all four cleaned and reinstalled.

i was hitting good on 1, 2, and 4, but got no change in idle speed when i disconnected the EFI harness from #3 injector, or pull the wire from the plug. took the trcuk back apart, put the #1 injector in #3 hole, and got a remanned injector for #1. now 2,3,and 4 hit good, and #1 is unreactive.!!!

To say that im getting fed up with this would be an understatement. compression test checks out at 185, and engine has newer head.

ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS!!!????!?! need to get this thing smogged, gotta love CA!

Try replacing #1 with a known good injector, say #2 or #4. If the problem follows the reman. injector, replace it, it just my be bad from supplier.

Thanks for the quick reply. that was my idea behind the first swap from 1 to 3. just sick of tearing into it everyday only to have another problem pop up. Im getting and injector pulse on all four harness ends, and spark to all, with good compression on all cylinders. leads me to believe bad injectors for sure. is it worth buckin up for $185 worth of (1) a new injector?!
