Yes, for 4cyl 5 speed guys, this is cheap. Not so much for v6 guys. My bad. Sorry for the confusion.
Darn, ya had me excited there for a moment!

v6 if you go marlin ultimate, its 1800 roughly for 4.7 gearing, then 400 for driveline mods

id assume around the same if you decide to get inchworm adapter to mate geared cases to v6 tranny, then driveline mods could up around 2k.

oh and twinstick the rear case instead of putting it in 2hi and the front in low. just be easier to go compound low in 2wd.

Yeah, but when you need compound low, you need 4WD ... twinstick allows you to use either ratio as 2LOW.

Compound low (4.7 and 2.28) is AWESOME in deep snow!

Looking for some input on the pros and cons of the various makers of adapters and gear sets for a dual case setup.
(Marlin, Advance Adapter, Inchworm, Trail Gear)

(edit, i read the second page after my post, so a little spill over)

i belive the case behind a g58 is different bolt up than the v6 case. basicly a hybrid for the upcoming generation change at the time. my old case (from behind my g58 in a 94 runner with 22re) just sits in the shop and looks pretty.

This would require new tranny and case but marlin has 4.7 case gear on sale right now. to add more to your descision with dual cases you can get a 2wd low (not low low). similar to a twin stick. i am twin sticked and love playing in 2 low.

Im in the same boat and right now im thinking of picking up the marlin gears on sale for now. ( i also have a r151f which is 23 spline meaning i need the 4.7 23 spline to do dual case in the future so i don't need to buy another turbo case). the marlin 4.7 23 spline will allow me to dual case with any case that comes along on craigslist for 50 bucks.

Sorry thought of another idea. if you see a turbo (r151f) tranny for sale its got like a 4.3 1st gear in the tranny instead of something like a 3.8 like most 22r(e) 5speeds. im on 34x9.5 with stock 4.10's and this saved me from having to gear my diffs right now.

someday some super low with turbo 1st 4.3, 2.28 case, 4.7 case, and some 5.29

(and im gonna get called on the 4.3 first cause i feel its not the right digit but its close and is in my head. with the voices)

Found this thread deep inside the depths of yotatech but thought i would bring it back because of the good info and i wanted to add.

So for those of you wanting to run lower gearing in your V6 or other chaindriven transfer case yotas the options have slimmed. You no longer can get the crawl box to chain case adapter from marlin and Inchworm is the only one that makes the A340H auto adapter to gear driven cases.

I have researched and weighed options for gearing my rig down many many times over the past 3 years of owning my 1991 3.0L V6 4runner with the auto and i have concluded a couple of things.
One everyone, almost, says "you'll want duals for the options and wheel spin." "dont do single 4.7 cases

Two 95% of yota guys who say that have never wheeled a serious yota with a auto, and dont realize how much of a difference a auto makes as far as crawling, i have 4.10's and a stock chain case and i out crawled other yotas and such at the old school rock crawl in delta utah. It's all about how you control your throttle and brakes with a auto.

Three I totally agree that if your running a manual you want crazy low gears because essentially by gearing down a manuel to 190:1 your making it like a auto as far as not stalling and ideling up stuff and the smooth control of movement

Four If you have never wheeled a auto and only manuals try it, i wheeled manuals and my auto and id never go back, with a auto and a 4.7 case you have the ultimate control as far as i can see plus a auto makes it so you still can have more wheel spin if you need it. As of now i have tomuch wheel spin if i dont control the breaks right. That saidit will cost my 900 bucks to change my set up to a single, 4.7 gear driven case but i think it will be a sweet set up when im done

This is what i have concluded from all my research and talking to people but i want to hear from other people on hear that wheel the autos. have you done this swap or what other options have people done?

Good info in this thread. Heck...I never even knew that a chain drive t-case was offered behind the 22R-E engines. I need to go crawl under my '85 5-speed & see if I have this dreaded chain drive case...because it came w/ "auto locking hubs". Hopefully the t-case got swapped out w/ the trans. that's in it now.Sleepr71.

or you could check the plate on the firewall to see what tranny you have.

it is a bummer to find out the MC 10 is no longer available. what happened, not enough sales?

Thats what i assumed it was a great product and i wish i could find one, the chaindriven case is tough and can shift on the fly, but oh well nothing we can do now except maybe find a used one. Maybe we can get someone with more info on this to chime in.

I just finished pricing out my swap and it will cost me about 1277 to swap in a 4.7 geared trasnfer case behind my auto. Not too bad but that includes twin sticks chrio treated output shaft and 23 spline imput shafts and the 500 adapter plate

after reading this thread im really decided on going for a 4.7 case, single, i found a adpt on cl for 150$ brand new never used, picked it up, and a top shift tcase for 50$ grabbed it also, all i would need is a skid plate and drive line mods basically (as well as a few other gaskets, output seals and a new clutch while im at it but why not throw the duals in now and at later point just tear the rear case apart and thorw 4.7s in it?
