The bend in the bar wasn't quite right and the tube hit the rear of the front diff. Truck was stock at that point. Couldn't mount it lower down without drilling new holes in the truss. Called to check part number. It was correct. Went to their shop to compare it to another one, same problem. Got my money back.Anybody have one fit without modding it????

I put one on my '90 Extracab I had before the 4Runner.
It was a pain to put on, and did not fit correctly until I did some redrilling.
Once installed though, my alignment was dead perfect for the 100K miles that on the rig before its death.
It did its job.
Also had the rear truss on.

I recently put one on. Drilling the truck was a pain but the truss lined up perfectly. Worth it? Guess it's one of those things you will never really know if you were going to have problems or not. I figured $50 was cheap protection.

If you have a tire/wheel combo that stick out the side, then you need a front truss! You'll never know you bent your frame until you go to the alignment shop,or it eats your tires up!Without proper instalation they will not fit right

Here is a picture of mine after about 8 years of abuse. You can see a few dents in it, and over the last 6 months I really beat the ÅÅÅÅ out of it. I'm convinced that it is the only decent product Downey has ever produced.

You can have my used one for $10+ship from 80013 if I can find it. It is already drilled, so you'll have to drill your frame to match. It fit OK. It got beat up at the low point a lot, but it might have saved some frame bending too. sometimes, under torque, the diff would hit the bar. never really hurt the diff, but it did make a clunk now-and-then. Frame stuff doesn't matter now because I chopped all those parts off.
