best offroad 22r carb

Hey everyone, I have a 81 yota 22r currently with a weber 32/36 carb. I have spent countless hours tunning it and I'm nowhere near happy with it. I do a lot of steep hill climbs and I'm sick of my truck dieing when going up hills. What carb do you guys run and recommend? I don't really wanna go efi as I'm not a fan of computer junk.

lol
I like old school stuff and it has its place on vehicles but "computer junk" doesn't need tuning or adjustment to run on steep hills.

If you search around there is a float bowl vent (or something lik that) mod for the 32/36 that is supposed to fix this problem, something about off camber dumping fuel from the bowl into the venturi. I don't believe there's a write up on here but I know I saw it on Pirate or the Marlin forum board, don't remember. Really cheap fix as well so it couldn't hurt to try, right?

Megasquirt + chevy tbi = best off road upgrade for 22r. Plus you can tune the engine till your hearts content. I cant seem to find the post but someone on here used a chevy 4.3 tbi setup for his 22r. Only part he need to make was an adapter plate to bolt the throttle body to the intake manifold.
