Balljoint spacers - please respond!

I just got my bj spacers in the mail. My ? is should I replace any other parts like new ball joints and shocks when I install the bj's. The disclaimer said I should get rims w/ 4.5" of backspacing to clear the spacers. What about bump stops?
My truck is a 87 xtra cab daily driver w/ 3" aal, 31"bfg muds, arb bumper. It would be great if any guys w/ bj spacers on their rig could share their set-up and what they think of it. Thanks

I'll post what I did when I installed mine, but there are zillions of threads already on here about bj spacers, shock lengths, backspacing, etc., etc. Use the search to find them rather than starting new threads.

I replaced all my ball joints, because with over 150,000 miles on them at the time, the stock ones were a little sloppy.
I used Rancho shocks that are designed for the front end of a Suzuki Samurai that has 0"-2" of lift. These shocks fit perfectly.
My back spacing is 3.75" and my tires are 32x10.50. I don't think you can use 4.5" backspacing. I would guess 4" is maximum, but 3.75 works great.
Keep all of your bumpstops stock, especially the "droop" one under the upper control arms. you can shave the compression ones if you want. Mine already were when I stuck the spacers on.
