Aux. gas

Aux. gas
I recently did alonger than normal offroad trip compared to what I normally do. I ended up buying an extra gas can and had it in the back of the 4runner. Let's just say it made me uneasy and I wouldn't be doing that again anytime soon.
So what is the best way to carry extra fuel besides adding an aux. tank? What type of cans do you guys recommend? Is it better to store the fuel on an a roof basket or elsewhere?
I trying to plan a trip later this year up into the SE corner of Utah or SW Colorado and just want to be on the safe side.

Scepter fuel cans, on the rear bumper/tailgate.

Ummm - you gotta pay to play.
I HATE the idea of putting that much weight up high on the roof, and you shouldn't carry it in the rig (although I do pretty regularly), so the rear bumper is about the only place left.

I just don't like driving around with gas fumes in it

you could get a roof rack and strap them down up there, i would try and get a short fat can to keep it balanced better, and spread out the weight a bit more but there is no way i would want to have gas cans in the cabin, but then again i do drive a pickup
