ASCO/Aisin...Possible hub problem?

I have a pair of ASCO hubs and am wondering what the purpose of the little nubs inside the dial/cover are for? Is it to keep the spring centered?
As you can see from my picture the ones in red are still there, but it looks like the ones with the blue arrow have broken sheared off. How much of a problem is this going to be ? Should I be looking for another set of hubs?

I think they're only for centering or aligning the dial with the body...

If they were mine, I'd replace them as it will eventually cause you problems IMO.
