I saw a guy set a bead with a ratchet strap and propane. Hose some propane in the tire, light a lighter and BOOM. It got him to 9 psi and he was on his way.

In my case I'd just hook up a hose from my converted Air conditioning pump and have all the air I need.

I don't think you'd have the air you need from the AC pump, unless you had a storage tank as well. You need to get a lot of air in fast to set the bead. Filling it up with the AC pump is no problem, but setting the bead...

I am putting in a 11 gallon air tank on my rig now. I had about 3 gallons of storage earlier but found that with 37" tires, that was only enough to inflate 2, then I was having a looooonng coffe break waiting for the next two to fill up.

That pretty much goes without saying. When you are mounting tires with a small explosion, there is a certain, inherent hazard to the operation

But, in well trained hands in a kids don't try this at home, professional driver on a closed course, contents packaged by weight not volume, contents may have settled in shipping, kind of way, it's simple, reliable, efficient and it doesn't require any fancy equipment beyond a can of starting fluid, a match and a certain level of intestinal fortitude.

Remember, before air cannons came into vogue, that is the way tire shops set a bead for many years. I can remember that being my favorite part of a visit to the tire store as a kid

The secret is in knowing how much juice to shoot in. None is not enough and the entire can is too much...

Well, i'm not on 37s yet, And I carry ratchet straps. And I don't go so low with pressure that I lose beads. The AC pump is more than enough for my needs this season.

I was just commenting that the AC pump wouldn't be enough to reseat a tire. For everything else it may be perfect. In fact, it would be perfect if you added a reserve air tank.
