95 2wd auto... lift?
ok, i started a thread a little bit ago, but it suddenly disappeared? ok well the above mentioned car is what i have... its a 95 2WD automatic 4runner with the 3.0... ive been looking at things to get for a 2" or 3" lift, including the much mentioned OMEs, but im having trouble finding stuff for this particular car... all the things im finding are for manual transmissions and 4WD... do any of you guys own a car similar to mine, or do you know where i can get these parts??
thanks

torsion bars, not struts but yea, jimabena is right, i haven't seen any specific lifts for 4x4 or 4x2.. should be compatible. coils in the rear, torsion up front.
*edit* here's a link to the right parts, those ome rear coils are the regular duty though, and not the HD. still great price in comparison to alot of other e-stores out there.

ok, maybe not... i know about the 4x2 trucks in relation to the 4x4 ones but i dont know how being a 4runner plays into it.....
i do know that a 4x2 truck has shorter tbars then a 4x4 truck..... check out www.swayaway.com

ok just looked, i think the 4x2 tbars and the 4x4 tbars for the 4runner are the same.... you might be able to do a full on 4x4 lift on it and then jsut reuse the stock spindels... however i am not sure exactly how the 4x2 is in comparison to the 4x4....

I own a 1995 4Runner 3.0 Auto 4x2 and as far as I can tell this thing is exactly like a 4x4 except for the lack of a front diff/axles and a transfer case. Everything else appears to be the same. 4x2 trucks are completely different though (except for the newer pre-runner styles). Think of a 2nd Gen 4Runner 4x2 like the current "Pre Runner" truck models and you will be on the right track.
I learned this the hard way recently when I attempted a complete wheel bearing and front brake job....all the parts and directions I had ahead of time were dead wrong
The front end is just like the 4x4 but with out the axels...It does have 54mm nuts with star washers but not a single cotter pin through a castle nut to be found.
I am running Downey 1.5HD in the rear and Edelbrock IAS all the way around. 4WP sold me the shocks but told me that they were for the 4x4 only and it wouldn't work on my 4x2 - sure thing whatever you say guys.
You should be able to run any torsion bar you want but remember that the 4x2 front end is already lighter than the 4x4 these bars were designed for so unless you have a lot of extra weight up front like ARB/TJM and a winch you may find the ride very stiff....
I have heard but could not verify that the 2nd gen 4x2 4Runners Tbars were softer than the 4x4 and a simple 'upgrade' to the stock 4x4 bars may be a good upgrade with out going to harsh. I haven't been able to confirm any of that info though so YMMV.
Good Luck

Don't put on the thicker t-bars. I put em on my stocks 4x4 and it made things stiffffff, even with no crank.
They are a perfect match for longer arms or a heavy bumper, but just stick with something close to stock.
