79 pickup lift

i have a 79 pickup short box and i want it to flex. 7in lift would be good. i want this to be as cheap and easy as possible.

i was looking at the marlin crawler extreme kit but if i could do it cheaper i would.

i was also thinking of marlin springs front and chevy springs rear, do you think you could put lift chevy springs in the rear or would it be to stiff

any suggestions or personal experiences would be helpful. thanks

chevy springs dot flex very well in the pickups...but flex GREAT in 4runners...just spend the money and go with a marlin crawler, allpro, trail gear..or similar lift...or do 4link rear..with marlin front..that would be awesome!!!!or 4link front and rear...that would be even better

x2 save up for a good lift kit, dont waste ur time and money on a "cheap" lift kit, they arent going to flex as expected, if u want flex, marlin, trail gear, all-pro are the way to go

First off easy and cheap do not belong in the same sentence as lift kit. Your not going to find a 7" lift "kit" anywhere. That is about 3" too much anyways. I'm running 37's with 4" springs. There is an endless amount of information floating around out there about leaf spring options. In either case a funcional lift on the older trucks requires a lot of fabrication and modifying. It's not gonna be a bolt on thing.

Here is probably the best kit your going to find or Marlins equivalent
http://www.trail-gear.com/classic.html

This kit requires a lot of welding and modifying. Keep in mind this will only take care of the front. For the rear your going to need this http://www.trail-gear.com/rearsuspension.html

I'm not trying to discourage you but like I mentioned above it's not going to be "easy" or "cheap"

ya i know, im capable of the welding and fab work but if i could get away with as little as possible thats what i want. i didnt mean cheap, more like as inexpesive as possible, and for easy, more like as little as work as possible. i realize there is gonna be some hours in the shop. thanks for the input
