3rd generation spacer lift--- HELP!

OK, I have tried to absorb alot of info after doing a search. But I wanted to pool all of the data right here. A few questions regarding cornfed spacers.

I want to do the following on my 1999 Limited (approx 54K miles)
Keep everything stock with exception of 2inch cornfeds.
2 inch 4crawler BL is on order.

1) I've heard that a 1inch spacer gives 2, and 2inch spacer gives 3inches??? Any truth to that?

2) Should I play it safe and use a diff drop kit with a 2inch spacer?

3) I wouldnt mind the rear being 1/2 higher than the front. Should I order the rear spacer 1/2 BIGGER than the front one???

4) Any finally, if you are using the cornfed spacers please post some pics (before and after if ya have them) especially if you are still using stock shocks.

Thanks!!! I know this is probally the 1,000,000 request.

1) I dont think ive heard that before. Ive heard of spacers sagging over time but since they are conrfeds, they are made of aluminum

2) A diff drop is always good when u go around 2 inches and above...cheap insurance

FWIW...you might want to look into doing an OME setup. Its going to give you a great ride. www.wheelersoffroad.com

IMO....i would run the TUndra setup and get a 1" body lift. THis is just my .02

hope this helps a little

Thanks so far... As you can see I am trying to keep the price down with cheaper mods. I dont plan to offroad a whole lot, a few times a year and I'd be lucky.

The OME set up looks close to the mods I want to do??? Dont they sag after a short time?

Do the diff spacer, its safe planning. I ran a spacer lift for about 1 year, then just went with the Tundra/ Revtek setup. I like it becuase, people who dont know geek out when they see the truck lifted and no lift spacer or coilover. The only problome I can see with sag is then tension cause over long term abuse of the coil/ spacer setup. The spring becomes heavily pre-loaded when you put the spacer kit on. But nothing to worry about for a long time.

Do you think a 2inch spacer still puts alot of stress on the coil? I was hoping to keep things minor by keepin it 2 inches or below on the spacers.

Anyone else have any input to the above first post question???

THANKS

I can only assume any spacer would create stress. But the larger the spacer, the more the coil become compressed.

As far as the amt. of lift provided by the spacer, I don't believe it is a direct 1:1 correlation as you have stated, but I'm not positive the numbers are exactly 1:2 and 2:3. Check with Robinhood150, he's the engineering whiz. He can probably give you the geometry/trig reasons behind it.

I have the 2" CB and no diff drop, CV angles still look good to me.
Here's a link to a pic for you.

Matthew,
Do you have a picture of your CV angles ??? How is your ride quality?

You rig looks good. Got any more pics? I am trying to picture mine with another 2 more inches with a BL.

Did the spacers actually give you 2 inches of lift? more or less?
Thanks.

I don't have any pics of CV angles, but if you are concerned, go ahead and get the diff drop.
Ride quality is better than stock IMO, but I also replaced the shocks w/Monroe Sensatracs..
Here are a few pics.

BUMP... Ok after doing my nightly research I have yet another question about cornfed spacers...

I do alot of highway driving...I wanted to do a 1 1/2 to 2inch spacer on the front and 2 to 2 1/2 spacer on the rear. (I like the rake look) I am really concered with the driveline angles ???
I have a good solid truck but want the higher stance without messing up my U joints/driveshaft.

I hope to be putting on the 4crawler BL (2inch) this Wed.
I still want another 1 1/2 to 2 inch lift with the cornfeds.

Any help or ideas what I should do ???
Thanks in advance.
