Probably not. I might have to go out to sea or start school around that time.

You know I wouldn't miss it if I could.

Seth - Where's the pic of me at Smuggler's? I couldn't find it in the trip thread.

I would like to do all that, but I have serious issues with going down to Mexico. Like coming back without my truck. Once the dez cools down, I'll try to be out there but I'll need as much notice for an upcoming run as possible.

Or.... We could just commit to doing a "river trip" and you guys can come down to the river and I'll show you some places to use that new travel of yours, Ryan!

i'll never understand this...mexico insurance is still insurance, but beyond that you just have to know your way around down there. the infamous bandidos were more of a mainland problem than a baja problem. you dont ge hassled in the out of the way places a truck gets ya too, just in the cities ie. TJ Rosarito, ENs. where else can you be in SD in the morning, drive all off road road from the mountains to pine forests to desert to the coast line for fishing, surfing, etc? you gotta go to understand it.
But i'll be inn the dez alot too, with that LT you can almost keep up with the motocycles and we do some great 150 mile rides.

I want to reinforce the engine crossmember and remount my bumpstops before I do anything like that. The bilstein 5125s that I have sitting in my closet should get mounted beginning of August.

Funny thing is, I met a local guy that races Baja and MDR and he's a close relative of the guy that owns Mike's Sky Ranch on the Baja course. I brought my truck into his shop for an alignment and we started talking about racing.

As far as Mexican insurance goes, don't you have to file the claim from the US? Believe me, I want to go down to Baja but I don't know what I would do if something happened to my truck down there. You're def right about having to know your way around down there and maybe if the right group was heading down there I would go.

no, you must file a report in mexico and talk to an adjuster down there. When my friend rolled his truck, got forced off the road by a semi, it was quite a pain in the ass dealing with the insurance, sure its allways alittle more difficult in Mex, but it all worked out and he got his stuff covered. Allways go with someone who knows their way around, and speaks Spanish.

If you havent been to Mike's you are really missing out.

Jeremy at Weldtec Designs did a killer job of fabbing up a custom front bumper. Just got it painted and although it doesn't have lights yet, I'll try and put some pics up tomorrow.

BTW - Since this has kinda turned into my truck's thread, I'll also say that some other (smaller) changes are upcoming. The announcement of the new front bumper is only the tip of the iceberg.

Most of the parts are here, just need the time and place.

Can't wait to see!... Since I don't have the extra cash to mod my truck like I'd like to, I am living vicariously through you, Ryan. I hope you don't mind.

You slayer of toads you!

THe bumper is bad to the bone. I have seen it and me likes it a lot!

Needs lights though. Hella 500's are only $70 a set. Not the most powerful lights out there but park rangers in Hungary Valley will act like total psychopaths if you have them.
