Post 1990 4Runner to Dune Buggy Conversion

My Stepdad and I are currently converting our 1990 4Runner into a Dune/Bush buggy. We could use as much info as possible on Transfercase doubling, moving the radiator to the back and what can be removed from the engine to make it a full time 4 wheel drive (we have a tow vehicle) (eg. vacuum lines). I forgot to mention this is a poormans play toy so please try to avoid giving us info on expensive add ons

Project update: Today my stepdad took off everything behind the gas tank it looks sweet and it really tears now

you could get add plates and just leave the shifter in 4wd all the time

He didn't say anything about fulltime AWD. I think they just want it in 4WD all the time.

You could either not worry about it and just leave the shifter in 4WD. Also, you may be able to modify the stick to be to be locked into the Hi-Low rail (leaving the 2wd-4wd rail in 4wd all the time).

Marlin duel transfer cases seem to be the best.

Check out www.marlincrawler.com for a lot of products. Also, you can check out their online forum.

Its all about what you are trying to acheive.... do what you need to.

is the search really broken over there or did they change rules. i swear i read a post the other day there saying something along the lines of, "searching would be a good idea for you to do on this site, and since now you have to be a red star member to search, it wouldn't hurt you to spend the money or check out a different forum like 4x4wire or Yotatech."
