i used to have a street truck of sorts...98 chevy lowered 4/6 with a bunch of other goodies. What I learned from that truck is that if you want to go fast, you buy a muscle car. Trucks are trucks. They should be used for what they were intended....wheeling, towing, hauling.

I hope they make the S/C option available for every model that has the 5.7L engine. Not just the street version.

You will be able to buy the S/C from TRD so I'm asuming it will fit any 5.7

Good luck on that! You may be able to beat some stock lightnings but after that I dont know.

So what would be the difference of a street car? At least with the pickup you can do more.

Where to start with this one.... a muscle car is a lot lighter than a truck. the suspensions are tuned to better handle high speed cornering. The aero dynamics are better. It takes a lot less to stop a 3-4k lb sports car than it does a 4.5-6k lb full-size truck.

After all the work i did to my truck, one ride in my buddy's 99 cobra convinced me that it was basically worthless to try and makes trucks go fast. If I want a go fast type car, i'd start with a domestically produced sports car with a V8.

I guess you never rode in a Lightning, have you? Besides the new Mustang weighs roughly 3700-3900 lbs. Not exactly light but I do see what you are saying. Besides muscle cars are heavy. The little Jap sports cars are the one you want for handling.

Don't get me wrong I like this Tundra but it is nowhere in the League of a lightning. If they do make it, I doubt they will sell many just like that of the Tacoma 6 speed truck which I cant remember the name of it.
