Thinking About Selling My T

I am thinking of selling my 1997 T100 4x4 SR5. It is black with gray, sportseats, 5-speed, 127k miles. It is in great shape. All stock w/ a SnugTop and underrail bedliner. Interior is almost like new. Finish is good but has wear due to bushes and birds! 99% on-road mixed driving. No serious off-roading, just dirt roads and some fire roads. Oil changes every 3k miles and all services done. Had new front rotors and pads done at about 112,000 miles. It has been my baby so I have taken really good care of it.

I am located in Southern California...what do you think I can sell it for?

Thanks!

I've been looking for a Tundra, but would be interested in a T100. How much?

Thanks for your interest!

The price I should ask is just what I am trying to determine. And of course, I need to decide for sure that I am going to sell! I need a daily driver that gets better mpgs and at the moment I have both the T and a 2003 4Runner 4x4 V8 Sport which is the vehicle I take clients around in and for long drives.

How much is the question....

KBB.com puts it at $8200 for the info you have given. This is in Excellent shape, with nothing wrong with it.

A nice T100

I bought my 1998 with 120K miles on it for $11K. However, the finish and interior were immaculate and it was mechanically flawless. It had been garaged throughout its entire life before me and it showed. Depending on what kind of wear the bushes an birds have done to the paint job, I'd think you could get up to $9-10K for that. They go for a pretty penny but are worth every bit of it.

Yes, I think that the range of price for my T would be a bit higher than KBB for similar reasons. It is mechanically flawless and the interior is just about flawless. The body and bed are in great shape also but my finish is a bit worn from some brush marks, birds and 7 years of normal wear and tear. It still looks great when washed-up. Another reason it would sell for more is that in this area they are rare and more highly valued. Lastly, I do have the SnugTop and bedliner.

Still haven't finally decided to sell, but 4 cars for 2 people is quite a lot even if they serve specific purposes i.e. a pickup is quite useful for those HD runs!

I can get a used 4x4 tundra LTD, since the T SR5 has most things the Tundra LTD has minus the leather seats and other generational improvements, with a SnugTop and Bedliner, for around $11K to say $12.5K? I'll check on this as I am curious, but it doesn't seem possible unless it has quite a bit more mileage than mine and most likely isn't in as good shape. No matter, I am aware of the market here and more so since investigating further am confident of the range we are discussing.

I didn't even really look, but this one has half the miles of yours, and is a little over $15. So if you double the milage, it will know a few more thousand off the price. I'm not trying to knock you down ... just giving you another perspective. good luck

EDIT: don't forget the 2 extra cylinders

Ah, Shavad, better watch it knockin' on the T100. While the engine is down by 2-cylinders, it more than makes up for that in better quality. The T was built in Japan, the Tundras all here in the USA. Most T owners agree that their T is of higher build quality than Tundra. The Xtra cab T100 also has a roomier cab than the Xtra cab Tundra (though it doesn't have the extra door).

It should be pointed out that the Tundra you found on Ebay is actually one of the rare, 6-cylinder 4x4's. As well, it has no power features (manual windows, door locks, etc.). I'd buy your T100 Andro before I'd even look at that Tundra! Except I already have one! I've looked at Tundras extensively... I've owned two T100's! Ask Water Man about what he thinks... he owns both a T100 and a Tundra.

I've got an 02 Tundra with about 75K miles on it. It always run strong, and never had a problem. Its quality isn't any less by being built here. Theyre both toyotas

The T100 is a good stong truck. But it lacks power, and basic get up and go. While a v8 tundra hauls some serious ass. I have a friend with a T100, and its good truck, I can't think of any complaints hes had about it. But if I had to make decision between and 8 yr old truck and one that was only 4 yrs old, and was only a grand or two more and came with a v8. This should be a no brainer call.

The one I found on Ebay was like the thrid one on the list who had a but it now price available.

I wish you the best with selling it man. If it was mine I know I'd want as much as I could get for it as well. =)

the guys i know with the v6 tundras are quite happy with them, and again i didnt look too close but v6 (manual) 4x4 tundras are quite rare, if that was one it's like an updated t100...the two trucks are not the same, some things better or worse.

if youre going to wheel your tundra, be aware that the front suspension is tiny compared to the size and weight of the truck, and the power the engine produces. the front diff is very small, the ball joints are extremely small, the steering rack is weak, etc...basically it's like the front suspension and drivetrain of a tacoma but on a larger, heavier truck. the travel is the same, and the parts are a similar size. you really need to upgrade the ifs for any serious wheeling.

what the T lacks in power vs the v8, i keep hearing it makes up for in reliability and quality.
