T100 Manual Trans/Drivetrain Noise in 4th and 5th gear
Bought a 97 Xtra Cab SR5 with manual trans recently (got good deal on it, otherwise would've gone with auto), and I'm concerned about a noise that shows up when accelerating after coasting in 4th gear somewhere around 45mph. Does anyone else out there have a manual and do you hear this sound? It's easiest to hear with windows up and stereo off, of course. It sounds similar to the noise you get when going in reverse with a manual trans. I've changed trans fluid and greased the driveshaft, but no dice. I'll try the transfer cases next. Otherwise, she runs incredibly well.

Yes it actually was off of eBay, and I got a 3k warranty with it, but I unfortunately didn't act upon this until I was out of the warranty. Why do you ask?
I'm wondering if it might be the throw-out bearing. They changed the clutch free of charge before I picked it up, but I'll bet they didn't replace any more than they had to. It hasn't seemed to grow any louder, and for all I know it's perfectly normal. I'm just a little wary as my last Toyota pickup experience was an ugly one (although that was an '84, and this is a '97).
Any thoughts as to where else to check?
