T-100 Manual Hub Conversion

Any of you T-100 owners convert your auto hubs to manual locking with something like the Mile Marker kit? Just wondering because I believe that I am finding the parts used for the mysterious $1K Tundra manual hub convertion kit, T-100 outer stub shafts and hub assembly .

Thanks!

jjc,
I converted to manual locking hub on my T100. I got some used Aisin's from someone converting to SAS. Aisin is basically the OEM locking hub for Toyota. With some new gaskets and a thorough cleaning and relubing, they work like a champ! Check out my webpage modifications to see info on doing this simple rebuild. You can usually grab some of these for $50-$75 shipped on Pirate4x4.com. There is always someone over there converting to SAS.

My Toyota T100

Regards,
Joel

You dont need to do the Tundra type swap on your T100. They have they early type hub design, so all you have to do is take off the lock plate, and put on the locking hubs. Simple swap, should take about 45-60mins start to finish, not including hub rebuild time.

I put warn hubs on my 94 pickup with automatic differencial disconnect (ADD) should be the same as the T-100 axel(?). Very easy coversion just unbolted the plate and bolted the hubs on took a half hour. I didn't notice any difference in mpg, however. With ADD it unlocks at the front driveline anyway not like the old autohubs that do not work well and try to lock/unlock at the hub. Replacing the older autohubs would help mpg . I would not suggest it on ADD unless you want to not have your CV joints moving when in 2WD. Not having them move would be good if you have a lift on your truck since the lift puts more of an angle on the CV and more stress if it is moving all the time, my truck is stock so it was a waist of $150. With the hubs locked it is the same as it was before I put them on. I keep them unlocked in the summer and locked all the time in the winter now.

The hardest part is the cone washers, use a brass punch or hammer and watch where they fly. I have the WARN premioum hubs and they bolt right on.
