Question T-100 Headers

Hello, I am new to this forum. I was wanting to know if anyone has any suggestions on what type of headers i should order. I have found 3 different companies on the internet that make headers for the T-100. they are TRD, JBA, and DOWNEY. The cheapest price i have found has been around $350 i believe and that was for the DOWNEY headers. The JBA ones were about $550 and the TRD were about $750. The thing i liked most about the DOWNEY ones are they did away with the crossover pipe and you can run true dual exhaust. So i was wondering if anyone else on this board has headers or any suggestions on which ones to order?

I'd say go with the TRD set. Yes they are expensive, but they fit very well and the construction is of high quality. Plus, they bolt right up, no fabrication required. About the JBA's, I've heard good things about them, but can't comment on them as far as fit. Best thing to do is take a look at a set and look at the construction, and true, they are cheaper than the TRD's. With the Downeys you could go with a true dual, but depending if you have a auto or stick, there may be some fitment problems (at least on the stick... I wouldn't want that much heat running in-between all those hoses on the driver's side of the firewall.) If you go with the TRD's, here are a few tips: first off (in general), if you don't want to save your old manifolds and crossover, cut the crossover pipe off with a saws-all. I didn't do this and it cost me quite a bit of time. Get a tube of Ultra Copper seal by Permatex. Use it on all the connections, but don't use too much, a thin bead will do. Get a set of new OE Toyota exhaust manifold gaskets (the metal sandwich type)- yes, this is another 50+ bucks, but I've heard the copper ones from TRD don't do a good job of sealing. Use a thin bead on these too, just to be safe. I've had mine on for a little over three years, and haven't had any problems. The TRD's will discolor over time (if they are not ceramic coated), but this is normal so it's nothing to worry about. Good luck with your choice!

thanks for your response man.. i think i may go with the downey headers because of price for one thing and because i can run true duals.. and as far as being close to the hoses i have already checked with downey and they said their headers come with new hoses because of this problem so i wouldnt have anything to worry about there. i would like to get trd's but i just cant make myself pay close to $1000 for them when i didnt even pay that much for the supercharger. I got a real good deal on it. I bought it from a guy that need bail money for his son so he sold it to me for $850. But thanks again for your input and let me know if you hear anything else about any of them because im not goin to order any for another week or so..
