? SHOCKS and LIFTS

I just got some PRO-COMP shocks for my TUNDRA....(REAR) and when I took them out of the box there is no strap keeping them compressed, they just stay compressed. I pulled the rod out of the shock and it stays out, and I have to push it back in. Shouldn't there be some sort of force on the shock to keep it un-compressed. Or are they supposed to only work as dampeners with the leaf springs? Someone fill me in. I've never really messed with shocks much, I usually just go somewhere and have them put on. NOW I WANNA DO IT MYSELF.....YEAH

Thanks

NEWBY....Clark (supermanwv)

Oh, by the way.

I just bought a 2002 Tundra SR5 4x4, with Stewart package...somewhat. Whoever had it put after market rims on it. STILL LOOK A LITTLE LIKE ORIGINALS BUT NOT. Now I need to install the Daystar spacer lift and 3" Body lift so I can go bigger with my tires.

NO ONE AROUND HERE....Fairmont, West Virginia.....does installations, so I may have to do it myself.... KINDA SCARY...NEVER DONE IT BEFORE. So if anyone knows someone from here that installs lifts let me know.

THANKS ALOT
