I have a 2004 Tundra Limited double cab 4x4 with the V8. I believe it's towing capacity is 6500lbs as stated in the manual. I am shopping for a new camper trailer that will fit my family of four. My original thought was to not exceed 5000 lbs of fully loaded trailer weight, but my selections seems to keep getting bigger. Right now I'm very interested in a new camper trailer that is 4624 lbs dry weight and I suspect it would weigh up to 6000 lbs when fully loaded with water and all the camping gear. I'm in love with this camper but I know that in my excitement I'm forgetting my original plan of trying to keep the fully loaded weight under 5000 lbs.

Can anyone with experience tell my how their Tundra does while towing their camper trailers? Especially if it is around this weight? Thanks.

 

Well, done deal. It towed great on our test tow before buying, so we brought it home. Can't wait for camping season in the spring!
