Octane Poll

Wondering......

Which gas do all of you use, 87,89,or 91 octane?

Do you feel it makes a difference?

Does anyone use octane boosters, or additives ever tank?

Also, Shell, Cheveron, 76, etc... which do you perfer???

i prefer whatever is cheap... normally i run 87 octane from arco

every once and awhile i will run an additive but normally i dont... sometimes if i am too far from arco i will get chevron, sometimes i splurge and get mid grade..... most of the time and the way most vehicles are designed nowadays, there is no need to have anything other than 87 octane....... unless your running forced induction or ultra high compression or something

I use 87 in the Taco and 94 in the Pony, as required.

Gas

I use 89 with ethenol made from corn. I live in Iowa, so 89 is cheaper than 87 because it's corn country. Seems to run fine. I can't even buy anything better in the small town I live in.

I use 91 octane in the T100 because of the supercharger. I run 89 in my other truck and wife's 4Runner with the occaisional (every 2-3 months) tank of 91 and maybe some injector cleaner. We also have 85 octane out west but I only use that in the lawn mower and weed whacker.

I don't seek out a particular brand when I fill up. I figure they're all crooks anyway....

I run 89 in my 4Runner otherwise the 3.slow pings going uphill. Usually I buy 76 because my neighbor owns the gas station and I like to give him the money. Otherwise I'll go to Chevron.

I run 85 here in Colorado and buy the cheapest I can find.

I use no additives except 44K once a year.
