02 tundra with non-existent 2nd gear

02 tundra with non-existent 2nd gear
so my dad has a 2002 tundra that has been having shifting issues and now it at a point to where there is no second gear when it engages in second its almost as if it was bumped in to neutral. has anyone had this issue?? and is the only solution a new tranny??? he had just replaced the b2 cylinoid in an effort for a cheap repair but it was unsuccessful. does anyone know a way to fix this or is the trans toast?

The trans is toast. They are notoriously weak in '00-02 Tundras. It is possible to swap in an "upgraded" stronger trans from an '03-'04. (They started using a 5sd auto in late '04 so be aware. The 5spds will not work)
