what lift?

I just picked up a 1974 landcruiser and I'm wondering about what size tire I can fit with the 2" lift that is on it now. It has 31x10.50 tires now and I have a set of 34x10.50 swamper ltb's. the fenders are not cut and I don't plan to right now. can I make this work with the lift it has now or should I step up to a 4"? also if I do who makes a good one and where would I find it? thanks for the input.

My guess would be that if you are running 31's, that you probably have longer shackles for a couple inches of lift??...The leaf over move that was mentioned would be your best initial move, and then you can add from there if need be...did you buy a FJ40 or 45??...

Let me know, NE is always looking for new projects.

A 2.5 lift will fit 33s. I know of a guy running 34s on a 2.5 but he had to trim the rear wheelwell. A good option would be some good 1-1.5 inch over stock shackles and some shims to corect caster angle. Of course SOA is verry nice when done right, but I am guessing you dont want to sink that kind of $$$$ into it. (cuting and turning front axle, welding new perches, new rear shock mounts, new drivelines....)

Is a SOA really that much more money than a standard lift kit (of better quality, like OME)? Guess it also depends on whether you do the work yourself or not.
