thinking of getting a 77 FJ40

drivetrain is solid but rust has overcomeith the body the rear quarters and some of the pan are not doing so well you can see the ground from the top in a couple places....done some research on fixing...it also has no tops and no doors with new rims and 35 inch tires with a 4 inch lift....

the guy is interested in trading for my quad which i have around 9-10k in do you guys this this is somewhat a good trade on my end??

any input would be appreciated...

thanks

Sounds spendy. Would you give him that much cash for it (instead of trading)

But, pictures speak loud....post some up and lets see if it may be worth it

I'd offer him $1,500 for it. A FJ in that condition needs a LOT of work, especially if you can see through the rust. Your quad is begging to be sold and use the extra cash you make off the quad to start restoration if he took the $1,500.

My 40 was in very good shape when I bought it, with minimal rust and it ran me $5,000.

I would only consider a trade if you couldn't sell your quad and did want the Cruiser. It sounds like you might be paying a premium for the Cruiser if you do trade. If you have cash from the quad deal it's easier to deal with this guy or anyone else. That way you will be able negotiate a better deal and spend less.
