my first post. Cruiser is a 1985 HJ60 jdm

I voted for the FJ60 because the HJ60 wasn't on the poll. It's ok. There may not be many of us.

Looking forward to participating on the board.

My contribution will follow as soon as I have a balance in my Paypal account.

Talking Another 80 Series Owner here !

Well, part owner - bought it used on a note.

Glad to see that these things seem to be tough, and durable - mine has 169K on it and was bought about 2 weeks ago w/ 168K .

That made me nervous at first - not so much now.

My first Japanese rig, too - I have always had Suburbans/Jimmys/RamChargers in the past. Gotta learn to turn a metric wrench for this guy !

The 69 is out of service for brake issues (4 drums). I'm Looking into adding a power steering kit to the 77. Found a strictly bolton kit from Jtoutfitters for about $900. Wanted to know if any of you 40 owners have done this and how is it working out?
I did my Saginaw for about the less money.
I have a complete parts list for the saginaw conversion. There is Fabrication required.

My only regret to the saginaw is Not doing it sooner

it's great to meet & greet other 40 owners. Not to many in Hawaii!

Own a 73, FJ40
383 TPI, SM465 TRANS
Detroit in rear, ARB in front
Saginaw pwr steering
4 whl disc brakes
and more

4th Fj40 owned
had: 69, 71 & 75 afew years back

I concure, if you are able do the work yourself. In my case the will is there but this 73 was just such a deal I couldn't pass it up for a rebuildable "core".
At any rate there's not allot of expertise in the area so I am looking forward to saving others from the clutches of he dealer and/or 4x shops wgo may not have much experience on hand with 30+ yr old vehicles.
