Well, at least you can start looking for an ARB, TJM, Hannah or Slee bumper and be justified with it.

Pics will come soon. I started trimming the front bumper but I'm not done. Think I may Line-X what's left when I'm done.

BTW, I'm jealous of your collection of vehicles

Romer: I know, I know........................I've been kicking myself in the arse since I originally posted it. I'm also a bit stuck as to which to choose. Lance was cool enough to modify it for me already as I left the 100 series off. (Idiot = me)

BTW: CDog, what happened to your pics? I bet you're privately putting on armor, huh?

Doug

Doug,

I turned out like ass

I never finished because I wasn't real happy. Going to talk to my fabricator this month and if I don't go custom I'll finish my trimming.

70 series was never sold in the US and most Yotatech participants are from the US.

What kind of shape is the 76 in? If its been sitting that long, you might be able to get it on the cheap!!

Why did you sell the 72? Do you have any pics of it?

As an FJ60 & FZJ80 owner, I could only vote once for the FJ60. We also have a '99 4-Runner in our family of Toys.

71 FJ40. See signature for major upgrades. Love that truck, and NO RUST (thanks to it always being an AZ cruiser). YT is a great forum, and I think that cruiserheads should use it more. However, with places like IH8MUD available, it is not surprising.

Sorry - I will post a pic asap. New computer and I am still transfering files.

Here is a link, but before my mods. You get the idea!

Just invested in a FZJ 80, fitted with a 350 Chev....awsome compared to my 2.4Td 4 Runner. Still got my 4 runner, was supposed to sell it, but i'm battling to accept the divorce. My wife thinks i'm greedy..i call it having a back plan should one vehicle fail What she fails to understand is that a lift and large tyres are mandatory..

I'm new at the cruisers and so have a few questions..

1) relating to the size of the vehicle. Are they as capable as the smaller 4 runners on trails?
2) what is a safe lift and tyre size to add and still maintain highway speeds of 120Km/hr +
3) is there a site where a lot of modified raised cruisers are pictured.

Well i suppose as time goes i'll have more questions.

Thanks to all for the great site

Damn, 95 posted Cruiser owners on YT. Thats way more than I thought there would be.

NatalShark,

Congrats on your purchase. I'm jealous of your 4Runner. I wouldn't part with it either.

Hopefully I can give you some insight.

1. Yes, the 80 is just as capable as the smalller 4Runner, in fact because of its build, the truck will withstand much more abuse. The size doesn't account for the weight. % of size increase is dwarfed by the weight increase of the 80. The heart of the 80 is ridiculously overbuilt.

2. Stock suspension set up should allow you to run 33's, but you may want to add a suspension lift for a little more clearance.

3. More 80's than you can count. Probably the most tech info anywhere for Cruisers. IH8MUD.com

Check out the readers ride section at the top. There you can select 80 series and start dreaming. Might have to sell the wife to mod the 80.

Oooops, I meant the Runner.

Thanks for the info 02runner,

I'll start some investigating right away..been to ih8mud, but still need to spend some time looking for pics.

I've still got a 4'' pro-comp lift, front and rear lockers which i need to fit to the runner...told my wife it will never sell without them...once they are in...maybe i'll say nobdy wants to by a moded vehicle

sell the wife to mad and keep the runner....mmmm....mmmmmm...mmmmm...i wonder what dual t case would cost

hope the wife never sees this...
