I just bought a 1973 FJ40 minus engine and transmission. I would like to install a diesel motor and run biodiesel in it, but I'm having a hard time getting good info on diesel motors. If anybody knows what motors would match up well in one of these trucks please post some info on it.

 

Search for conversion kits. I know for sure you can put a few different Cummins in there, that's a pretty common diesel mod. Or you can try to get a hold of a Toyota diesel from a jap FJ.
