bought one !

hi,
got a '97, no lockers, red, good lthr, great cond outside, georgia car, 2 owner, maint. records... $13k. i thought good price?

couple questions...

it makes a hissing sound upon acceleration... is that normal?

the fake wood inside is discolored and stained-- can one get replacements?

i got 16.5 on the highway trip back-- i think that's normal ?

the bars holding up the 3rd row seats are not connected to anything, so i have to hold them down when folding down the seats-- are they supposed to be in those clips all the time?

thanks much...

Congrats on the purchase!

Depends on the mileage regarding the price. You can get new wood from Jason B. here on the forum.

16.5 sounds normal

Not sure on the seats. If you haven't already, check www.ih8mud.com for better info. It is an all Cruiser site. Your 97 is considered an 80 series.

Congratulations!

With my deckplate mod and the Amsoil filter I can hear a sort of hissing, kind of like low volume static, when under load or acceleration. Don't know if that's any consideration for your vehicle but perhaps something to look into?

I don't know if 16.5 mpg is normal for a LC, but I'd say it's pretty good considering I get 17 with my 4runner.

Yup, look up Jason at burtman industries for the wood.

Thanks. Feel free to shoot me an email. I have kits for ANY year Land Cruiser, as well as kits for any vehicle now.

Here's a pic in a newer Land Cruiser.

Nice find, bummer on the lockers.

Exhaust whistle comes standard on the 80's.

the fake wood inside is discolored and stained-- can one get replacements?
Peel it off and leave it plain?

i got 16.5 on the highway trip back-- i think that's normal ?
That normal, until you put the lift and big tires!
